Tryouts for the 2009 Season have been scheduled for the week of Tuesday, February 2nd, at The Florence Fundome.

This means that anyone interested in joining the league can choose from Tuesday the 2nd or Thursday the 4th, to take a skills assessment. The hours are 8:30 – 10:30 on both nights.

BBRG is currently training hard for our 2009 season, and looking for new recruits to join the league! We are holding one more Tryout date, before we cut off recruitment for 2009! Now is your chance!

The process works like this:

We hold tryouts on Sunday, November 30th at Independence Skateway, from 11-1pm.

Advanced/experienced skaters can take an Advanced assessment/tryout and then join the league in regular practices.

Less experienced skaters can take a Basic assessment/tryout and then attend Boot Camp training on the following two Sundays, to better prepare you for regular practices with the team.

Gear required:

-Skateboarding helmet
-Quad skates
-Knee, elbow and wrist pads
-Mouthguard

We have extra gear for you to use until you can get your own.

More than just skaters, we also need volunteers of all sorts! Statisticians, Referees, Announcers, Floor workers, etc etc etc. Please contact us if you are interested!

BBRG is now recruiting skaters for their second season.

We are holding a Skating Party/Meet-n-Greet where potential skaters can come out and meet the league, get your skate on, and get all the information needed for tryouts!

Tryouts to be held the following Sunday, November 2nd. If you have been considering joining the league, now is your chance! Basic skating skills and determination are all you need; the rest can be taught!

It’s time to start preparing for our 2009 Season! Have you been thinking about becoming a Black-n-Bluegrass Rollergirl? Now is your chance!

Gear can be provided for anyone who needs it, until you get your own.

Potential Skaters will be subjected to a Basic Skills Test. Passing this test will then require 3 consecutive Sundays of “Boot Camp”, which will prepare you to join in on regular practices with the team.

Experienced Skaters may test out of “Boot Camp” by taking an Advanced Skills Test. Passing the Advanced Skills Test will place you on the team, to begin regular practices with BRRG.

The Black-n-Bluegrass Rollergirls are looking for some new recruits to join the league! We have open tryouts on 3 days, take your pick!

Tryouts take place at Independence Skateway
1637 Independence Rd.

Following tryouts, you will be subjected to Boot Camp, where you will learn the skills needed to play Flat Track Roller Derby!

Quad Skates
Helmet (Skateboarding, not Bicycle)
Knee, Elbow and Wrist Pads

Gear will be provided, during tryouts, to those who do not have it.
